When I was in junior high and highschool I didn't realize I was lucky to have the teachers I did. I guess these days, students go into college with a real disadvantage. I spent so much time doing research papers it was beyond ridiculous. It was okay at the time because my parents didn't let me have a life anyway. Also, the computer wasn't as prominent in the home as it is now. It's sad that with all this technology, people are actually becoming more illiterate. I mean come on!? The valedictorian doesn't know how to do a bibliography?!?!?!? This really makes me sad. I hope my children don't go through this...

I don't see what the big deal is... It she can hang with the big boys, then let her. Don't be a wussy and shut her out just because she might embarrass you in front of your friends and the viewing public.

Music links today...

Got this link via Mary and I've decided to repost because I listened to these mp3s and I was shocked because she has one of the purtiest voices I've ever heard.

Sounds of Aloha tickets have gone on sale. For a limited time, the good tickets are only 5 bucks more than lawn seating!

canoe: Lopaka (Bob)
paddle: Club Xylo
time: ~7:45pm

Tonight I flew the ama all by myself. for those of you who don't know what that means... This is what flying an ama looks like...

Granted it took a few tries. But I managed to land it without turning the canoe over! :)

A definite hero for our generation. Back in 1987, this lady promised a group of first graders that they would get a college education. This year, she's spending all spring attending graduations.

Not only did she pay for the tuition, she managed to actually spend time with these kids... that's so much more than throwing money at a problem. Our government leaders should take note.

You know... I'm sure alot of tekkies that were laid off here in the silicon valley would qualify for a job like this...

I know what you're thinking... but I'm not fluent... so I doubt I would get the job. That and... Who would want to move to Oregon?

Yesterday Melvin and I had an adventure out on the OC1s... Makes me respect the elements just that much more. I'll write about it when I have more time, but to hold you over, here's an awesome clip of people who know what they're doing from the Starbucks Ka'iwi Channel Relay. Simply awesome. I'd LOVE to be this good. damn...

You need quicktime to view this...

I love fish. They taste good. They're fun to watch in my tank. And now, they're fun to read. I'm now a fan of this new comic strip.

This weekend will by my first long distance race of the year. It's pretty unorthodox this year because the race has changed from a straight ironman open water race into a relay race around the island of Alameda.

Yes. Alameda. Home of the Navel base where they keep the noocleear wessels and site of the filming of the Matrix sequels. Pretty exciting. :)
